Budgets and Finances

The Township of West Lincoln provides a responsible and balanced approach to budgeting and managing municipal finances. Once the annual budget is approved, Council receives monthly financial updates from staff, and at the completion of the year, the Township’s finances are audited by an independent firm.

2024 Budget

The Township is committed to a transparent budget process and to providing information in an easy-to-understand format. OpenBook presents budget data using charts, tables, graphs and maps. Below you can find important information related to the 2024 Budget.

Council will discuss the 2024 Operating and Capital Budget at the following scheduled meetings:

• Presentation of the 2024 Capital Budget and Ten Year Capital Plan and any 2024 Staffing Requests for Information Purposes Only was presented at the All Committee Meeting meeting on Monday, January 15, 2024.
• Presentation of the 2024 Draft Operating and Capital Budget to be presented at the Special Council meeting scheduled for Monday, February 5, 2024.
• Final 2024 Operating and Capital Budget to be presented and discussed at the Administration/Finance/Fire Committee meeting scheduled for Tuesday, February 20, 2024, with an additional date set for Wednesday, February 21, 2024, if required.
• 2024 Capital and Operating Budget to be ratified at the Council meeting scheduled for Monday, February 26, 2024.
• A 2024 budget engagement survey was launched in the fall of 2023, allowing the public to share their thoughts regarding the 2024 budget online from September 26 to November 24.
